I hope everyone has had a lovely week. It’s been heatwave central here in the UK this week and to be honest I found it quite unbearable. All I wanted to do was cool down poor Josh’s room; 27 degrees at one point! Then Friday brought much needed rain and I literally did a little rain dance around the house. It was like a treat to be able to put the baby to bed in a sleep suit after a week of sleeping in just a nappy!
We’ve had a pretty quiet this week this week to be honest so I apologise if this weeks update is a little bit dull. I’ve been taking it quite easy and I’ve also been throwing myself into a fantastic Productivity Challenge Course run by the lovely Aby over at You Baby Me Mummy .The course was amazing; we were set daily challenges to help us boost our productivity; setting goals, learning how to schedule efficiently and even buddying up with a fellow blogger to boost and encourage one another. An added bonus to the course is getting to know some other amazing bloggers even better. It’s been a really encouraging and motivating group and I’ve got lots of lists written, I’ve started scheduling things such as Instagram, and it’s given me a real insight into how to organise my time blogger more efficiently.
The long awaited MAD Blog Awards took place last night. I have been eagerly awaiting to hear the results and was sat at home trying to be really cool, just looking at Twitter now and then like I really didn’t care…. such a loser, of course I cared! Why is it so hard to admit that at the time? I guess it’s the fear of looking silly. Sadly I didn’t win my category, it was always a long shot and I was thrilled to see the brilliant Jamie from A day in the life Dad win. Well done Jamie!
I’m not going to say I wasn’t a bit disappointed but to be fair, I think I did pretty well getting as far as I did. And this little blog of mine isn’t going anywhere, I plan to grow and grow so who knows what next year might hold! I always try to think positive and see the best in every situation and this isn’t any different. Who knows what the future holds.
Josh has been teething central this week. I can see two at the top poking through and then the two on either side and this is coincided with the worlds runniest nose and a fair few meltdowns. I’ve done my best to keep him occupied though. We went to a little soft play place near where we live and also made the most of the stupidly hot weather and went for another morning to Southwold. It’s so lovely there and it was so warm we even had a paddle in the sea. I used to wish I lived near the sea when I was a kid, so now I make the most of it and I love taking Josh to the beach.
Another highlight of the week was getting our photos back from our professional photoshoot we had done last month! I am in love with the pictures; Josh looks so adorable and I’m glad we didn’t go for anything too cheesy. I feel so grateful looking at them and seeing my little family.
So as you can see it’s been a pretty quiet week, one for staying at home and taking it easy. We’ve got a super busy week next week though as my family are coming to visit, I’ve got lots of blog work to do (keep your eyes peeled for some additions to the website, including items I couldn’t get through the week without; one for baby, one for Mummy), vlogging plans, and meeting up with friends, including a lovely new friend I randomly made in Tesco car park. I was so glad me and a fellow Mummy got talking; our boys are around the same age and we got chatting and swapped numbers and plan to meet up for coffee and cake (any excuse) next week. So brave it fellow Mums; get chatting and you may well make a new mummy friend.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and I’m sorry this post is a short n sweet one.
Lots of Love
