Hi Everyone,
We are well into September and after an obscenely hot start to September I am thrilled that autumn has finally arrived. I’ve smelled her creeping in over the last few days, especially in the early morning air (thanks for those 5.30 wake ups Josh)! I love love love Autumn. It’s my favourite time of year by a long shot; the colours, the smell, the fashion, the hot chocolates! It’s a time for snuggling down with your loved ones, having movie afternoons under the blankets and embracing what is without a doubt the BEST fashion season of the year.
Every year I have such a beautiful affair with Autumn; soft blankets of golden leaves, conkers, pumpkin spiced lattes, fireworks, the scarves and boots. It’s just LOVE it. There’s nothing quite like it. For some reason it just makes me feel really nostalgic, and seems to be the season for reflection. As Mr. Fitzgerald beautifully phrases it, ‘life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall’.
There are so many clothes I adore for Autumn; boots (I’m after some cute new ankle boots for my birthday), cosy jumpers, fluffy socks, and every year I treat myself to a new winter coat! Oh and Scarves! I genuinely seem to have some sort of addition to scarves!
I’ve loved all the cute pastel shades of summer but I am super excited to start rocking some Autumnal Berry colours. Nails are always a berry shade in Autumn (and Winter)! But this year I fancy braving some different lip colours. I am such a wuss when it comes to trying new lip colours; I always tend to stick to what I know (which are generally a bit boring simple nude like glosses). But I am loving this berry lip shade and thanks to some advice from my gorgeous beauty blogger friends, I can wear it with other colours to compliment my skin tone! I’ve used the advice from this fantastic article from Bridget March for Cosmopolitan UK and from it I can tell I’ve got pink Undertones so I’m going to be treating myself to some berry lip shades in deep plum and wine colours. I will let you know how this goes for me with some updates over on my Instagram later this week.
Autumn nails, as I’ve already said, are an absolute must! I’ve yet to go shopping for some new nail varnishs for Autumn but scouring Pinterest has given me a lot of ideas:
So as you can see I am more than a little bit excited about Autumn! And of course it’s my birthday coming up which is always exciting; any excuse for cake, plus this will be first ever birthday where I’ll get a card as a Mummy! Now it’s a chilly evening I’ve got every excuse to curl up with a book, a cosy blankie, soft knits and a cuppa (or a glass of red; seems to be I only drink red wine in the autumn and winter)!
Enjoy Beauts

Autumn is not my favourite season (that would be spring) but I am a huge fan of autumnal colours. Asides from black and purple these colors make up the remaining third of my wardrobe. #bloggerclubuk

I love Autumn colours. A berry lip, a dark nail and wearing darker colours too. I’m not a huge fan of the weather – especially if that involves wet and windy days, but the fact that Christmas is peeking round the corner gets me excited! #bloggerclubuk

As we already discussed on twitter earlier, I have already succumbed to the Autumn fashion temptation. If only I could apply dark nail and lip colours I’d be all over them too – lucky for my finances, I’ll leave that one over to you Maverick.
Thanks for as always being such a supporter of the #coolmumclub! MWAH

Thanks honey – I’m braving the berry lipstick and bought a couple the other day – eek! xxx
I love those berry nails! I am so getting some of them! I do like autumn but only if it’s sunny. I’m a bit obsessed with sunshine. I don’t like grey drizzly days. I think I may actually suffer from that SAD thing!
