  • Blogmas Day 14 – The Christmas Tag

    Hi Loves!

So todays Blogmas is a little different. My lovely friends Wendy from Naptime Natter and Bridie from Bridie by the Sea both nominated me in The Christmas Tag, so here goes!

Here is all I love about Christmas!

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

This is so hard! Like all normal people I love Elf – it’s hilarious; “Oh wait, I forgot to give you a hug”! But I also have a massive soft spot for The Holiday. I just love it so much; it’s funny, romantic, and has Jude Law in it wearing glasses! What more could you want!

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Yes. I think I was about 11 or 12 and we went to spend Christmas with my auntie in Felixstowe. It was such a lovely Christmas (I got spoilt rotten) and I remember on Christmas Day evening it started to snow quite heavily and we all went out onto the green in front of my aunties house and had a massive snowball fight! I remember a lot of laughter and happiness. It is one of the happiest family memories I have and I will hold it dear in my heart forever.

How do you usually spend the holiday?

We usually spend Christmas day at my husbands parents farm. We tend to go and see my family in the week before Christmas, and I see all my girlfriends from back home then too. Then on Christmas eve we go back to Cromer, we go to the afternoon Christingle service then for a drink before heading back to the farm for dinner and then a Christmas day at the farm. There’s several kids around now so there’s lots of lovely family chaos, a big Christmas dinner that my husband prepares for everyone and then Christmas presents around the tree after dinner (I know – it pains me waiting all day)!

What is your favourite Christmas song?

All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah – of course! I love it – I sing it on point in the car!! Ha ha! I also love the Coldplay song Christmas Lights – it’s very magical.

Do you open any presents on Christmas eve?

No! My mother in law makes us wait till after bloody dinner on Christmas day (which I moan about every year but to be honest am secretly glad we do cause it keeps the excitement going all day)! However I do, every year, buy myself a Christmas present! I normally have some lame excuse to justify this to myself, and this years is that I’m a mother, I’m knackered and I quite obviously need a glittery rucksack!

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

    Ok.. Rudolph….

You’ve no idea how hard it is not to Google right now….!

Prancer, Dancer, Donna, Blitzen…… I’m Out. I’m not even sure if those are right!

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

When Josh was born last year we decided to have a second Christmas day, just us three, at home a couple of days after Christmas. We have said we’re going to do the same this year and I can’t wait. I love spending time with family and friends but I also feel so lucky to have my own little family now, and I love snuggling up with them, playing with Josh and his toys, and being a little family together. I don’t think I appreciated the day as much last year in my post baby haze, so this year will be lovely.

Is your tree real or fake?

Fake. We used to have real ones but we came across a really good fake, and it’s just so much easier each year and it looks nice.

What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?

Oh as if I can only choose one! I demolish Dark Chocolate Oranges by the bucket load at this time of year (cause it’s the only time of year I can ever find them). I love Christmas pudding and often buy a load to have at home! Of course Christmas dinner is just the main event – I love that my husband is a good cook.

Be Honest – Do you like giving or receiving gifts better?

I’m not going to lie – I love getting presents. My hubs is so good at picking presents for me and it’s so exciting to see what I’m going to get. But I also love seeing his face when I’ve picked him gifts; I think I really surprise him sometimes and it’s lovely to see the delight on his face. And that goes for anyone I buy presents for; it’s a really good feeling knowing you’ve given someone something they love.

    Just sayin….!!

What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

Oh God it’s hard to narrow it down to one. But the one that sticks in my mind was the most amazing pram for my dolls that my parents got me when I was probably about 8. I thought I was the bees knees parading my dolls up and down our road in that pram!

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I’d like to go to anywhere in Scandinavia, or Iceland, to enjoy the snow and see the Northern Lights.

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

Fail Fail Fail. It’s a running joke. I was wrapping gifts the other night and it pained Sam to even watch.

    I wish!!!

What made you realise the truth about Santa ?

    What you trying to say….

What makes the holiday special for you?

Family, Friends, Laughter, Food, Presents, Memories, Bubbly, More Food, Love, Laughter, Reflection

    Merry Christmas my loves
