I stumbled upon this weeks quote completely by chance and it really got me thinking about the supportive and loyal bunch of friends I’ve got in the blogosphere (and of course in “real life”).
One of the best things about blogging is some of the other amazing blogs you come across. And I’ve been fortunate enough to become friends with some of those whose blogs I read and that I admire so much. It’s so lovely to call these wonderful writers my friends.
But the really special thing about them is that I am pretty sure they genuinely have no idea of how inspiring they are.
Some of my blogging friends are like me, and write very honestly about what they’ve gone through and some of their stories are heart breaking and hard to read. But the admiration for these women that I can call my friends, for their ability to write about things that are unimaginable is enormous. I don’t think they even realise how much I adore and respect them but they truly inspire me without even realising and this is especially true of Laura and Fran. I am so glad I can call these amazing women friends.
Then there are the bloggers who inspire me simply by having beautiful and frankly awesome blogs. I see how hard my fellow Fi has worked on her blog and what she has achieved in such a short amount of time is amazing. I love her blog and her vlogs; warm and friendly, it’s just like catching up with one of your friends. I also adore my lovely friend Sarah blog. She has been someone who has encouraged me and supported me from day one, along with the lovely Emily and with both of them, the beauty, effort and style of their blogs are something I’ve strived to achieve. In fact when I went self hosted I repeatedly looked at both Emily and Sarahs blogs for inspiration on my own design! I certainly didn’t copy them, but they really helped me come up with some ideas for how I wanted my blog to represent me.
Then there are those blogs that you are inspired by simply because you love them. I’ve recently discovered Chloe’s blog which I have fallen in love with; it looks beautiful, she writes about everything I love and I adore her friendly style of writing. The same goes for Lucie’s blog, she is another beaut who I love that I’ve got to be friendly with and who supports and encourages me, and I have to say Lucie is a huge inspiration when it comes to my vlogging too. And of course there is the hilarious and bloody brilliant Hannah who is ultimately the holy grail of blogging and vlogging – I admire her so much because she doesn’t sell out. She only writes about and features things she truly believes in and I love her openness in her vlogs She’s someone I’d happily love to go out for a prosecco with and I wouldn’t have discovered Lucies blog if I hadn’t seen her featured on Hannahs.
This blog post isn’t about kissing anyones arse. Anybody that knows me, knows I am not like that. But it is an opportunity to say to these women, thank you! Thank you for writing so beautifully, honestly, for making me laugh, for making me feel like it’s not just me, for making it feel like I’ve got a friend to turn to on those shitty days when the baby is having a meltdown and it’s too early to rely on wine! I wanted to start this week by saying thank you to these lovely ladies. You are all far more inspiring than you realise.
Have a good week chicks.
