Happy Monday Lovelies!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Ours was wonderful although most of it was spent trying to stop Josh commando rolling everywhere – the kid is on the move in a massive way and this week I will be investing in a baby playpen AKA baby prison so I can keep tabs on the little munchkin!
For this weeks Monday motivation I’ve had my lovely friends on my mind. I spent the weekend with some amazing friends and I also got to spend quality time with good friends last week on my mission to “slow down”. I saw this quote and it rang true immediately:
I feel that as I’ve got older, my friendships have meant more and more to me, and have got better and better. As you grow up together you learn to appreciate each other more, not take each other for granted and encourage each other. I’ve got some amazing friends and each of my best friends I can turn to for different things; sometimes you need someone who is a hugely positive influence and helps you see the good in all situations. Sometimes you need some one you can chat to for what you think is just half an hour but it turns out you’ve whiled away three hours whilst demolishing a chocolate cake. Sometimes you need your friend who’s been there literally since you were a baby and knows you inside out and even better than yourself. Sometimes you need that friend who just gets it; the tiredness of being a Mummy, the doubt you sometimes have in yourself and you need someone to say “it’s OK, it gets better, I’ve been there too”. Every day I am thankfully to my friends, I lean on them every day and they lean on me. Friendship is a two way street and are relationships and people we shouldn’t take for granted.
So today I celebrate my friends. They are kind, thoughtful, fun, strong, admirable, amazing and I love each and everyone of them, old and new. I can’t sit and list them all but I have some very special people in my life and I love you girls (Holly, Aimee, Cara, Chrisey, Sam, Jess, Vic, Amber, Rosie, Becky, Jen, Gemma, Ellie, Kerry, Katie, Kat, Helen and Holly). You girls don’t know how wonderful you are.
So this week, cherish your friends, let them know they are amazing, eat cake, have a gossip, have a moan, have a hug, make time to listen and be kind.
