  • What Made Us Happy This Week

    Hi Everyone,

Happy Saturday! We are having a seriously lazy Saturday today; it’s been such a busy week and we decided we need a day of tea, sofa, playing and of course a bit of blogging!

I love doing our Happy week post, as part of the wonderfully positive Happy Days Linky It’s a great excuse to look back over our week and feel grateful for all the fun we’ve had! So here’s what has made us happy this week.

    happy days

    The Weather!

It has been such a gorgeous sunny week! Even though it’s a lot cooler today we’ve been blessed with some beautiful weather this week. I love it when you get up in the morning and the sun is streaming through the window; it makes you kick start your day really positively even if you feel tired from a tricky night.

    Mummy and Baby Picnic

In keeping with making the most of the lovely weather, me and the girls decided it was the perfect excuse for a picnic in the park with the babies!! Mostly we just wanted to catch up over cake, but for once we got to do it sat outside in the sun. It was a lovely day and it makes me so grateful that I’ve got such a fabulous group of mummy friends.

    Weaning Fun and Games

We’ve been enjoying more weaning fun this week! Josh is a huge fan of sweet potato, pear and apple. It’s so funny watching his little face trying to take in all the new flavours and suss them out. I’m still breastfeeding him regularly, I’m just trying to use this time to get him used to flavours rather than monitor how much he actually eats. And as those of you who read my post earlier this week will know, I’ve decided to stop beating myself up over the whole baby led/puree/ occasional pouch dilemma. I just want us to enjoy it and let Josh take his time getting used to it.

    Attempting Some Sitting Up

I noticed a lot of Josh’s little friends have been sitting up over the past week so I thought I better get a bit of practise in for Josh. We’ve been sat playing with his play blocks and I can see he’s really enjoying sitting up rather than laying down all the time so I was pleased to see the practise is paying off. Yes he looks like he’s doing an obscure yoga pose, but he’s pretty pleased with himself!

Finally Realising I’ve Done Pretty Bloody Well So Far

This week I got asked to become a regular blogger for Emma’s Diary. I was absolutely bloody thrilled! When I was feeding Josh before bed the day I found out, it suddenly dawned on, I only launched Beauty Baby and Me in August 2015. Now I am blogging for several different well known websites, I have over 1500 followers and out of 8000 blogs I’ve got down to the final 6 for Best Baby Blog in the 2016 MAD Blog Awards! And I’ve done all this whilst having my first baby and dealing with all the chaos that comes with it! So I feel really bloody proud of myself, and sometimes I underestimate myself and how well I’ve done. It was lovely to suddenly realise I’ve done pretty bloody well and sometimes we should give ourselves a pat on the back for what we’ve achieved!

    Lazy Day

We’ve had a lovely week but a very busy one! It’s been lovely this morning to be lazy, drink tea, play with Josh and do a bit of blogging without rushing anything. And that’s our plan for the day; sofa, cuddles, food and the In The Club boxset (new favourite show)! Couldn’t be happier.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone

    Quite Frankly She Said
